Disclaimer....I wrote this right after the trip but haven't been able to put it up because I needed the rest of the pictures and I didn't have those and so I got them and then then I just haven't had time to finish it so while I am here in El Paso, I am taking a break from trying to find jobs because they are all online and so...here is from Cali!
I was on my out to California to see my grandparents just as a storm was coming in. I was sad to leave because we were supposed to get snow and if you know me, you know that I love snow. But it has been a long time since I have seen my grandparents. I got home right around midnight thirty and had to laundry. So I stayed up all night because we were supposed to get up at 2:30 so that we could leave by 3:30 to be at the airport by 4 so that we could catch our plane which left at 6.
The plane had to be de-iced before we could take off because it was snowing some and the wings had ice on them. The ride up was super bumpy for the first 15 minutes while we tried to get out of the clouds. I had a blast because I love turbulence, it makes the ride fun. Kind of like a roller coaster, you get thrown all over the place. The ride started to get boring because we were getting out of the clouds but I took a few pictures with my phone because it was super cool to see the sun just hitting the tops of the clouds. We had a super short layover in Phoenix and then we headed off to California.
When we got to my grandparents house, we looked around and it hadn't changed a bit...well, except for one thing that did change but it wasn't anything huge. I tried to do some homework after we settled in, but that wasn't working out because I stayed up all night and didn't sleep much on the plane and I was trying to do it outside in the sun but that was just putting me to sleep so I took a nap. My mom woke me up to say that my cousin wanted to take me to In-N-Out. With those words, I was up and moving because if you have never had In-N-Out, then you are missing out (haha, I just rhymed). It was super yummy and so we headed to the beach so that I could say that I went there during this trip. It was dark and we pretty much just walked down to the water and back. I took a picture of the ocean in the dark and I would put the picture up but all it is essentially a black picture and you can't see anything.
I worked on a paper for most of the day at Panera Bread on Saturday, so that was boring but I was glad to get it done and turned in. We played Mexican Train Dominos before dinner which was fun, I came in second place if I remember correctly and then my mom and aunt went to go and get pizza for dinner. I don't remember what we did for the rest of the night so on to Sunday.
We went to church and the message was good. It was essentially a gospel presentation and in why we should accept Jesus as our Lord and savior but there were a couple of points that I am not sure if I completely agreed with. He said that it didn't matter that Jesus died on a cross but that he died for our sins and that is all that really matters. And for some reason I have been thinking about that and I seem to remember reading somewhere that he had to die on a roman cross, but still, if people come to Christ because of that message, then hallelujah. Had more pizza for lunch because we had leftovers and then we went for a road trip. Papa wouldn't tell us where we were going but we ended up at this place where they just grow tulips and we were there when they are all in bloom, so it was pretty cool. We didn't actually get to go up close and see them but it was still super cool from a distance. I also got some pictures of the beach on the ride home.
(My mom is saying tulip here)
I slept in super late on Monday, partly because I could and I don't often get to sleep in. And so by the time that I got up, Papa wanted to know if I wanted still have breakfast or just skip to lunch. I opted for breakfast. I took some pictures around the house before we had to leave for the airport to go back home. My grandpa loves gardening and the sort so I tried to get some good pictures of things. I don't know what the one on the left...just a pink flower maybe? The one on the right is an orchid. Mainly I just took pictures of flowers but they are still cool. And now this is a historic event for my grandparents, we got In-N-Out for lunch before catching our flight and they eat it as well. This was the first time that they have every had In-N-Out! Both plane rides on the way back were boring because there were not bumps at all....I was so sad. We got home and my dad made me a latte to go and I headed back up to the foco to get back in the swing of my busy busy busy life.
I have to say that it was awesome to see my grandparents again. It has been a super long time and I hope that I get to go back again. We may have not done very much but sit together or read things or just talk some but it was still super fun!
