Dodging Sprinklers

Well, I worked last night and as I was walking around the building to make sure that all the doors were locked and the windows were shut and the sprinklers were going on the east side of the building. I was walking right along next to the building and passed two of them and there was yet another ahead of me. I couldn't tell how far away the head was from me because it was dark. I thought it was moving away from me but it turns out that it was actually moving towards me. I started to get hit by the water and I jumped to try and get over it but now I was only standing closer and being blasted by water. My entire front was soaked and so I just walked through the rest knowing that there was no point in trying to dodge them now. So here is my great wisdom in this....never try to dodge sprinklers, you will get wet!

Cali

Disclaimer....I wrote this right after the trip but haven't been able to put it up because I needed the rest of the pictures and I didn't have those and so I got them and then then I just haven't had time to finish it so while I am here in El Paso, I am taking a break from trying to find jobs because they are all online and so...here is from Cali!

I was on my out to California to see my grandparents just as a storm was coming in. I was sad to leave because we were supposed to get snow and if you know me, you know that I love snow. But it has been a long time since I have seen my grandparents. I got home right around midnight thirty and had to laundry. So I stayed up all night because we were supposed to get up at 2:30 so that we could leave by 3:30 to be at the airport by 4 so that we could catch our plane which left at 6.

The plane had to be de-iced before we could take off because it was snowing some and the wings had ice on them. The ride up was super bumpy for the first 15 minutes while we tried to get out of the clouds. I had a blast because I love turbulence, it makes the ride fun. Kind of like a roller coaster, you get thrown all over the place. The ride started to get boring because we were getting out of the clouds but I took a few pictures with my phone because it was super cool to see the sun just hitting the tops of the clouds. We had a super short layover in Phoenix and then we headed off to California.

When we got to my grandparents house, we looked around and it hadn't changed a bit...well, except for one thing that did change but it was
n't anything huge. I tried to do some homework after we settled in, but that wasn't working out because I stayed up all night and didn't sleep much on the plane and I was trying to do it outside in the sun but that was just putting me to sleep so I took a nap. My mom woke me up to say that my cousin wanted to take me to In-N-Out. With those words, I was up and moving because if you have never had In-N-Out, then you are missing out (haha, I just rhymed). It was super yummy and so we headed to the beach so that I could say that I went there during this trip. It was dark and we pretty much just walked down to the water and back. I took a picture of the ocean in the dark and I would put the picture up but all it is essentially a black picture and you can't see anything.

I worked on a paper for most of the day at Panera Bread on Saturday, so that was boring but I was glad to get it done and turned in. We played Mexican Train Dominos before dinner which was fun, I came in second place if I remember correctly and then my mom and aunt went to go and get pizza for dinner. I don't remember what we did for the rest of the night so on to Sunday.

We went to church and the message was good. It was essentially a gospel presentation and in why we should accept Jesus as our Lord and savior but there were a couple of points that I am not sure if I completely agreed with. He said that it didn't matter that Jesus died on a cross but that he died for our sins and that is all that really matters. And for some reason I have been thinking about that and I seem to remember reading somewhere that he had to die on a roman cross, but still, if people come to Christ because of that message, then hallelujah. Had more pizza for lunch because we had leftovers and then we went for a road trip. Papa wouldn't tell us where we were going but we ended up at this place where they just grow tulips and we were there when they are all in bloom, so it was pretty cool. We didn't actually get to go up close and see them but it was still super cool from a distance. I also got some pictures of the beach on the ride home.

(My mom is saying tulip here)

I slept in super late on
Monday, partly because I could and I don't often get to sleep in. And so by the time that I got up, Papa wanted to know if I wanted still have breakfast or just skip to lunch. I opted for breakfast. I took some pictures around the house before we had to leave for the airport to go back home. My grandpa loves gardening and the sort so I tried to get some good pictures of things. I don't know what the one on the left...just a pink flower maybe? The one on the right is an orchid. Mainly I just took pictures of flowers but they are still cool. And now this is a historic event for my grandparents, we got In-N-Out for lunch before catching our flight and they eat it as well. This was the first time that they have every had In-N-Out! Both plane rides on the way back were boring because there were not bumps at all....I was so sad. We got home and my dad made me a latte to go and I headed back up to the foco to get back in the swing of my busy busy busy life.

I have to say that it was awesome to see my grandparents again. It has been a super long time and I hope that I get to go back again. We may have not done very much but sit together or read things or just talk some but it was still super fun!

Did Jesus go to Hell?

Here is another good question....I was once again searching for a message to listen to and I found something that I think to be rather disturbing. Mark Driscoll was talking about whether or not Jesus went to hell and his conclusion was no. I just watched a short clip of it but that is what he concluded. That Jesus said "It is finished" and also that when he was talking one of the criminals with him, he said "You will dine with me in paradise." I was forced to think about the death of Jesus and what that means to me. I could not just take what he was saying in that short little clip as true. I think that his death meant something so much more. I asked a Stephen about it and he came up with something that seems to be backed up by scripture and made more sense in my mind that Jesus just dying and the curtain tearing in two and a great earthquake and then Jesus is partying in heaven and then he comes back to earth three days later. You should ask Stephen about what he thinks about it...I found it to be rather interesting.

When Jesus died, he took the full wrath of God upon himself and therefore he took the punishment that we deserved...death...for eternity. If Jesus had not died for us, then we would have to spend eternity in hell for our punishment. So then what do you believe...did Jesus go to hell or did he not? These are thoughts that I have gotten from Stephen and things that I have read and just stuff that I have thought. I would highly recommend checking and backing the things that you find and believe against the Bible. There was another sermon from Mark Driscoll that I actually listen to all of it and there were somethings that he said that I was not so sure of.

I don't know if this makes sense, I hope it does. I think that it is good to admire pastors and listen to their teachings and on what they think about the Bible, but do go on just believing every word they say. You should check what they say with the Bible and with others around you to make sure that they are speaking the truth. Not to say that Mark isn't, I am just saying that you should watch what you listen too. (Yes, I know I just said that awesomely and you all should like it!)
