What do you think?

I was reading in Matthew and I read these verses and I completely love them, but I want to know what other people think about them.
Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light."
So what do you think about this set of verses?

The first time I read this, I didn't have an answer so I went to bed and now here I am looking at it again. First sentence; God will give you rest, or a peace of mind that the world and the things of the world can not give. Even just in knowing where you will be going when you die is a calming thing that many people in the world do not have. They are heavy laden, their hearts are heavy. God gives us as Christians rest from that. Also we get rest from feeling like we have to do everything and schedule every hour of our day. I still struggle with being so busy, but God says we only have to do the things he calls us to do, not everything out there the world tells us we also need to add into our day.
Sentence 2; take His desires and concerns, not following the world and being concerned about everything it tells you to do. Having a change of heart and desire. Take on God's work, not man's work and you will be at peace (find rest for your soul). He will help shoulder our burdens. Like two oxen harnessed together pulling something. It is always easier if there is more than one to shoulder the work. And in training a team if you are training a new ox or horse how to pull, you hitch it to one who already knows what it is supposed to do and it will teach the new one. This can probably also be applied to discipleship among people and discipleship from God.
Sentence 3; God is not burdened like we are burdened. If we are walking in His light, we will not feel burdened like we would when we know we are disobeying God, or when we are being tempted by the devil. I don't want u to think this means that God doesn't place things on our heart. He does, but we are less burdened by the things the devil tries to condemn us with because we are walking in God's light. For the part that says, "For my yolk is easy," he may be saying that God's call is simple. His task we are called to is simple. Reach the lost. We aren't required to build huge churches or have great music, or go to retreats, his yolk is easy (in a sense) reach the lost.
This is my current interpretation of these verses. I am curious to see what other ppl also think about these verses.

I like your take on this Kristina. I think that's a pretty nice take on it.

I've often viewed this passage as simply a reminder to just Rest In Jesus...meaning, to just let Him take control, not worry. And also to just enter His Presence and rest. Don't do anything...just rest, knowing Jesus has it under control.
